Nat has been a part of our Red-E family since starting our Bootcamp for Women program in early 2017. Her main focus has been to improve her running ability, lose weight and increase her overall health. Nat has not only reached all of her goals but has done an exceptional job in surpassing her own expectation of herself! Nat has completed two half marathons, Mackay Marina and the Townville Half, in outstanding fashion! In her short amount of time with us she has also managed to lose an impressive 10kg and over 50cm from her body! Nat’s determination, consistency and self discipline has allowed her to achieve so much more than she could have ever thought! She has been a truly inspiring and motivating part of our Bootcamp and Running program! We are truly excited to see how much Nat can achieve in the future! What was your motivation to start training with us here at Red E?
My motivation was my need to value my health and myself again. After suffering a couple of injuries over the last year I had neglected my health and had become lazy. Now I never called it lazy, I called it being too busy, working full-time and organising a home and family, being tired, the weather being too hot or too wet… amazing how we can always find a reason if we need to. I had enjoyed group training in the past and prefer exercising outside so it was an easy decision to join Red E.
What were your goals?
To improve my fitness my goals were simple, show up to training three days a week for twelve weeks.
How have you gone with your goals? What have you achieved?
I didn’t even make the twelve weeks before I upgraded my membership so that I could attend extra sessions! I was training with Red E five days a week and running distance (which I never thought I could do again) on the Saturday. I have since run two half marathons, my fitness has improved tenfold and I have lost a whole dress size.
What benefits are you experiencing?
I have my energy and soundness of mind back. I can squeeze so much more into my day without feeling overwhelmed and I feel in control and organised again.
What did you do to achieve your results?
I turned up to each training session prepared to give 100% – no excuses.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
I have made exercise a part of my life again, I take more care in what is in the foods that we eat and rest when I need it. I am now looking after myself with the same care that I give my family and friends.
Fave healthy food: This changes week to week, at the moment it is miso salmon with asian greens and soba noodles.
Fave treat food: A good pub steak sandwich (must have beetroot) with chips and a beer.
Fave exercise: Kettlebell sessions.
Most “Dreaded” exercise: Anything that we have to do a 100 reps of!
Favourite Quote? I have two: “And this too shall pass.” and “As you think, so you shall be.”
Advice for others starting out…
Just get yourself there! Be it Bootcamp, Semi-Private Sessions or PT sessions, you will get the support and encouragement from the trainers and you will make some great friends. Some days will be challenging and other days you will feel like a champion but just get yourself there and do the best you can do with what you have on that day, you won’t regret it!
