Michelle has been a consistently present at Red E’s 5:30am Bootcamp for Women sessions for over 5 years now!! She has done an excellent job of showing that once you put the effort into adapting your routine to account for exercise, it is simple enough to maintain it week in week out without going over the top with your training or burning out in the short term.
Michelle is undeniably one of the most consistent clients we have seen in our Bootcamp, but shows her consistency in more ways than simply being present every week. Michelle’s own set of principle in regards to what she expects from herself in regards to the effort she puts forth, her technique and her attitude remains unhindered even when things may not be going 100% for her or during challenging sessions.
Michelle’s personifies the idea of “when it gets tough, do it tough” and certainly knows how to mentally and physically push herself in situations that are more than just uncomfortable.
Michelle is a shining example that if you remain focused on your own individual goals, your own individual performance and stick to your own personal standard consistently, you will soon become the “benchmark” that people aim for when put in a group situation.
“Scale victories” were never a goal for Michelle, but it is undeniable how much Michelle has improved herself physically and mentally over the last 5 years as part of the Red E Community.
Congratulations Michelle, we have loved having you with us for all these years and seeing your continually striving to be fitter, stronger and faster and for this reason we’d love to give you our April “Client of the Month” Award!

When did you start training and what was your motivation to start training with us here at Red E?
I began bootcamp with Red E in January 2014. I’d joined gyms in the past and always started off enthusiastically, but eventually would go less and less, and then not at all. Starting with a 4 week block of bootcamp, followed by another 4 week block, I then completely committed and signed up for 48 weeks.
My motivation was to do something that would keep me consistently active, which is exactly what has happened. Red E provides accountability,
encouragement and compels you out of your comfort zone.
What were your goals?
After recovering from major surgery, I wanted to do something that would
maintain both my physical and mental health, and reduce potential bone density loss that comes with menopause. I wasn’t overweight, but certainly could do with toning up. I actually weigh more now due to muscle gain.
What have you achieved? What benefits are you experiencing?
Apart from the times I have been out of town, or suffered a couple of minor
injuries (not bootcamp related) I have been there week after week, month after month, year after year, and have no intention of stopping.
I look and feel fitter, have more confidence and am generally happier within myself. In the past five years I can’t recall being ill or suffering from colds or flu (hope I didn’t just jinx myself !!).
What did you do to achieve your results?
The best time of day for me to exercise is first thing in the morning. If I don’t do it then, it doesn’t get done. Knowing this, I opted for 5.30am sessions.
You soon learn that even when you don’t feel like getting up and going, once
you’re there and do the session you always feel better for it. So, a bit of self-talk (or yelling) is necessary when the alarm goes off. I find that exercising in a group, and knowing that you’re expected to turn up, helps as well.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
For one, I’m committed (addicted) to bootcamp. I aim for balance between work, play, exercise and rest.
I don’t follow any strict eating regimes, but am more conscious of what I
consume. Everything in moderation.
Fave healthy food: Steak/chicken and salad
Fave treat food: Cadbury chocolate
Fave exercise: Squats
Least fave exercise: CTF Burpees
