Many of us turn up to our training sessions, working as hard as we can to try and achieve the goals we set. Many of us also are culprits to then thinking we can follow through with a “bad diet” because we have “earned” it. I myself have been one of these people, and let me tell you the saying “you can’t out-train a bad diet” couldn’t be any truer. Everybody has different opinions of what over-weight is but being so fit and into sport my whole life when I gained weight it was a lot for me.
I was attending Red E Bootcamp three times a week and also training here in the studio at least twice a week and although my fitness levels were increasing my weight was going in the complete opposite direction to what I wanted, all because I would “run out of time” to cook and just pick something up on the way home, or would choose the wrong options and constantly over-eat even if I was only eating twice day. Although it took me a little while, by making small changes I finally come to realise why the trainers were always going on about how nutrition and hydration was so important. I never went on any crazy, unrealistic diets I simply just changed from eating take-away to fresh, non processed, home cooked meals, where I knew exactly what I was eating each meal without and hidden “ingredients” or preservatives.
Being educated on nutrition made a huge difference to my lifestyle, which unfortunately many people don’t get the chance to learn or have people nearby willing to help them. So while we are at your fingertips let us help you!!
Each day making sure I was eating breakfast which was something I never managed to before. Even though this made me feel hungrier through the day I learnt this was actually a good thing as it meant my metabolism was working, which then was burning fat. Eating the right options every few hours helped me lose weight and stay energised which ended up being something that was most important to me. I never realised exactly how low on energy I was until I started to feel better again. Since then I have completed many fun runs as well as completing Tough Mudder 2013 which has been one of my biggest achievements so far, as well as feeling fantastic and having self confidence back.
Even though I still have goals I want to achieve and to keep changing and improving my body I wanted to share with you guys that some of us have had our own weight-loss and life changing journeys (we are human to) and we do know that it isn’t as some people make it look, we do actually understand what you are going through and are here to help you achieve the results you want.
