Today I’m going to share with your my own personal transformation.
Even now, I get a little bit nervous about putting myself out there like that, but I’m also freakin’ proud of what I have done, and if my story can inspire others to do the same, well, that’s my mission in life.
After all, why DON’T you deserve to be the healthiest and fittest version of YOU? What BS story do you tell yourself that you aren’t good enough… or motivated enough… or you are ‘meant’ to be big and unfit forever.
I’m telling you right now, it’s just that – absolute BS! If you continue to tell yourself that, you will BELIEVE it… only you can change your self-limiting beliefs (and that’s a WHOLE other blog post).

Make a decision and stick to it. It’s that simple. Here’s proof…

I was in Bali at the time, my last stop on a round-the-world trip where, as my shirt advertises, I “Partied All Night” not to mentioned ate whatever I wanted. Before I left I was fit. It didn’t take me long living an inactive lifestyle and eating whatever was convenient, that I stacked on the weight.
I was humiliated that all of the clothes I started my round-the-world trip with, didn’t fit me. It was only a five month trip…. and for three of them I was living and working a ‘normal’ non-travellers life.
Those horrible shorts… I had to buy from a discount store in Florida. I was due to go to Disney World and after being in cold climates, Florida was a welcome warmth. Except when I tried to put on the only shorts I had packed. They got as far as just above my knees. I was so embarassed, and so so SO disappointed in myself. A horrible, horrible feeling.
My ‘ah-ha’ moment came when I was in Egypt, which was just prior to Bali. Another hot climate, the same ol’ recycling of the limited clothes. It was a holiday I dreamed about… lots of active things; desert treks, climbing Mt Sinai for the Sunrise etc.
It was when our group was trekking in valleys and through sand that I found myself at the back of the group. My fitness had gone to sh!t. I was hurting in ways I shouldn’t have. Then the day we got up out of bed at midnight (yes, OUT of bed) to hike Mr Sinai for the sunrise, was the absolute pinnacle of change for me.
I was that exhausted, my breathing was erratic, and my legs were aching like they never have. I craved the feeling of feeling fit and strong and healthy again. What should have been a simply amazing experience, almost had me in tears. And I promised myself, there and then, on the top of Mt Sinai, that I would change. I would make it my mission to get my body back into shape and OPTIMAL health, and that nothing, NOTHING, would stop me.
That was 2003. I worked my ass off (quite literally) and got myself back into shape in a few short months. I craved the ‘fix’ that exercise gave me. I didn’t always want to do it, but I knew I would regret NOT doing it. And that experience, leads me to where we are today. The photo on the right was taken in 2013 – ten years later.
Long story short (I have so much I could share with you!), the experience of being the unfittest, unhealthiest and largest I have ever been in my life, to becoming the strongest and fittest I had ever been, is something that I wanted to share with EVERYONE. I WANT EVERY WOMAN TO FEEL THAT AMAZING!
So I studied to become a Personal Trainer, and have now had my Studio Training Business for over ten years. I’m extremely proud of that – I am living my passion!
I have shared my story today with you, so that if you are feeling the same way, you KNOW that you can get yourself out of it. If you are in a rut and feeling stuck you CAN change it. More so you damn well deserve to.
You must know your WHY, and it has to be powerful enough that it will happen. There’s absolutely no way that it won’t.
The HOW is easy, when the WHY is enough.
Find your WHY and make it a MUST.
