Jodie has been a long-term client at Red E, starting with Mackay Bootcamp for Women, then committing to Personal Training Sessions AND Semi-Private Training Sessions! What can we say – she is addicted and committed to her healthier, fitter life!! She is a goal-setter, and a goal-getter! 2014 has been a phenomenal year for Jodie – she set goals way out of her comfort zone and delivered on every one of them! Her outstanding efforts this year have earned her our December “Client of the Month” Award! Congratulations Jodie!
What was your motivation to start training with us here at Red E?
I initially joined Red E with my best mate Ashley Williams (April 2014 ‘Client of the Month!’) about 2 years ago doing bootcamps a couple of times a week. We were generally looking at becoming fitter / healthier and were aiming for our bikini bods for our coming trip to Thailand.
What were your goals?
At that point in time I just wanted to become fitter overall and get into the routine of a healthier lifestyle
How have you gone with your goals? What achievements have you made? What benefits do you feel?
Back then my goals were simple and based around the now. After training with Red E for so long and there endless encouragement and motivation I have a hunger for everything health and fitness! I now do Bootcamp, long distance running, Personal Training sessions and in the last few months I have been a part of Semi Private ‘FAST’ program. Honestly I cant get enough of these guys and what they offer!!
In 2014 I completed 4 half marathons, entered the Oxygen Covergirl Competion, achieved some personal strength goals and built some amazing friendships. I can’t thank the team at Red E enough for all the continued support, advice & encouragement which has seen me face some injuries and push me past what my mind thought I couldn’t do.
Going forward I am keen to push the boundaries of my strength! I am able to see my own progress within my own increased strength and appearance having gained muscle throughout my body and lifting heavier weights then what I have before. I also have people around me complimenting me on the changes they can see in my appearance and mindset.
I have endless energy and feel better than ever!! That has made me more excited and enthusiastic about all aspects of my life.
What did you do to achieve your results?
Red E has been a huge motivation and assistance in all of my goals.
I thought I was crazy just thinking I could do it, but I turned to the trainers and there was nothing but encouragement. I completed Red E’s Running Training Program in the 12 weeks leading up to the Mackay Marina Run and also had the fun and support of the other girls running aiming for their own goals. Even while the race was on and afterwards all the Red E trainers and clients were their cheering each other on.
A big part of achieving my goals now and in the future is waking up, getting dressed and getting out there or just doing the exercise / choosing the better food option even when you don’t feel like it. I have trained my mind to thinking of the following question every time I am tempted… how bad do I want this and is it worth this drink, chocolate or whatever it may be that is your “weakness”.
Completing PT Sessions with Red E has assisted me in continuously meeting my strength / appearance goals with the introduction of new exercises to my programme like deadlifts, barbell squats and chin ups. We’re always doing something new and exciting and upping the ante.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
The hardest thing for me was improving my food intake in regards to increasing what I was eating (not getting distracted by a busy lifestyle) / choosing healthier alternatives and just being prepared. I have now made permanent changes to my daily food intake by eating regular meals and I don’t find myself looking for those sweets as much, or if I do I now have the willpower to say no.
I now train at least 6 days a week (even on holidays) without fail.
Fave not so clean food: Chocolate / Pasta
Fave clean food: Need to find my creative side. I love egg whites lol
Fave exercise: Squats
Least fave: Front & side raises
“A huge part of that credit goes to the trainers at Red E and the friendships I have made there while training, they keep me committed. Its not just about working out, its about laughing, sharing stories / recipes and pushing one another to our limits.
2 years ago I never thought I would be this hard at it, but I never look back. Each day I’m reaching more and more of my goals and I can’t thank Red E enough!!”
