Todd and Shay-Lee joined Red E in March 2019, each with their own individual goals and reason for wanting to join. Although coming with different purposes, they were united in their commitment to the idea that they needed to take action sooner rather than later and were fully prepared to put in the hard work.
Todd and Shay-Lee, although working towards entirely different goals have an enormous sense of accountability to not only each other, but also to their trainers. They are not shy in sharing any dieting ‘secret’ the other might be keeping from their trainer. The power of accountability between Todd and Shay-Lee has worked wonders in not only sticking to their diet, but also ensuring that they are consistently attending their One-on-One Personal Training Sessions and the Saturday morning Smack-Down session together.
Shay-Lee joined Red E first, looking to build muscle, strength and improve postural issues. While these goals were not as easy to measure, the results have been clear as day when looking at ShayLee’s physical performance. Throughout fitness testing in her Personal Training sessions, ShayLee absolutely smashed her starting results in every aspect of the fitness test!
Todd wasn’t specifically looking for a trainer, but came to support Shay-Lee in her initial consultation. It was then he realised that he would get so much more from PT sessions than training himself at a gym, so committed on the spot! His goals were to improve his fitness and lose the centimetres that began to build around his belly button and waist. In four months of training Todd has well and truly exceeded these goals and outdone himself. 21cm and 2.1kg has been dropped in this short period of time, with his fitness level now better than ever.

When did you start training and what was your motivation to start training with us here at Red E?
Shay-Lee: I signed up first, originally to gain confidence.
Todd: I had no intentions of joining. Until I went in with her to sign up and sat in on her consult and thought, okay I would get more from a One-on-One PT session than I would out of a gym membership, because I lack the motivation to train consistently or intensely.
What were your goals?
Shay-Lee: My goals were to slim down, improve posture and improve all round strength.
Todd: My goals were to build strength, improve hip and knee stability and lower body fat.
What have you achieved? What benefits are you experiencing?
Shay-Lee: Body composition goals are a work in progress and have made significant postural improvements and physically stronger and fitter than before!
Todd: I have made great progress with my stability and strength and still working on my body composition goals.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
Shay-Lee & Todd: Permanent lifestyle changes we have made are mostly diet related, eating foods to support the amount of training we are doing and not having our “bad foods” as often. We are both consistent in ensuring we are training four times each week.
Favourite healthy food:
Shay-Lee – cauliflower rice
Todd – Salmon
Favourite treat food:

Advice for others starting out…
“The best advice for anyone starting out would be to know your goal, design a plan, commit to the plan and stay consistent to the plan. See the plan through, know you did the best you could and don’t give up!”
