Paul Tett has been training with us since 2011 in our Outdoor Group Fitness Sessions! He has consistently done minimum of one session per week for a few years combined with his own running sessions. Recently Paul increased his Bootcamps to two per week and we have definitely noticed an increase in his fitness and strength!! Paul never takes it easy in a session, when we see him arrive we know we’re in for a wicked session. He pushes himself to the limit in everything he does, when we say run, he sprints! When we say jump he jumps with every ounce of strength and power he can muster!! Not only is Paul a really hard worker in his sessions but he also has a great positive attitude, rain, hail or shine Paul is there and doing the work and having fun with it. That is why he has become a fitness machine and we have chosen him to be our May 2016 Client of the Month!! Well done Paul, you deserve it!!
What was your motivation to start training with us here at Red E?
I had reached a point in life where I felt it was time to “Pay the Piper” for the past 15 to 20 years of not so good health and fitness decisions. I wanted to give myself the best chance of being around to be involved in my children becoming young adults and beyond and share in their futures. Although still a long way off, I plan on retiring fit and healthy so I am able to enjoy that quality time with my wife and the family.
What were your goals?
Simply – to improve my fitness, feel physically and mentally good and have a bit of fun in doing so.
How have you gone with your goals? What achievements have you made?
Boxes ticked, a few times over as there have been a couple of extended breaks (up to a couple of months) over the years (to deal with niggling running related injuries etc). Each time getting back on the Red E horse after a forced break is an achievement, it is very satisfying to re-build that fitness and have fun doing it.
What benefits do you feel?
Being able to achieve the daily physical routine with out having to think about it.
What did you do to achieve your results?
Turned up whenever possible and pushed myself each and every time.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
Being conscious of the food I eat. I have educated myself to a point where I understand a good choice and a bad choice relative to food type and serving size. I still make too many bad choices, but at least I know that I am doing so now.
Fave “clean” food: Grilled fish
Fave “not so clean” food: Pizza
Fave exercise: The running ones!
Most “dreaded” exercise: Anything that resembles a dance move!
Favourite Quote?: “You can’t out train a bad diet” – Red E. “You only get out what you put in” – Unknown.
Advice for others starting out… Do it! If it hurts the next day or two it’s working! Have fun while going about it, the Red E staff are a great fun bunch!
