Nicole has been part of the Red E family since she first moved to Mackay in April 2017. She was looking to meet new people and get active again so she joined Bootcamp for Women. After a long period of inconsistency in her training and diet, she decided it was time for a fresh start with her focus on getting fit and healthy – any weight lost was a bonus.
Since starting with us Nicole has been nothing short of consistent and has truly given her all in her training and Nutrition. Her goal for 2017 was 8 Week ‘Little Black Dress’ Project and the way her body composition was changing spoke volumes about all the hard work being put in! In 2018 Nicole has focused on her running, participating in the many fun runs around Mackay. She recently smashed her 5km PB which is a testament to her hard training – and she’s not done yet!!
Nicole has pride in her training and doesn’t shy away from exercises that may seem out of her depth to start with, working continuously to improve her weak points and building a truly well rounded athlete! Congratulations Nicole on being awarded our August ‘Client of the Month!’
When did you start training and what was your motivation to start training with us here at Red E?
I joined Red E in April 2017 after moving from Victoria in Feb 2017. Having moved I thought it would be a great new start and a new me. I wasn’t eating healthy and was very inconsistent with my exercise. I’m not much of a gym person so Red E was exactly what I needed to get started. Having a trainer taking me through correct techniques and pushing me is what I needed to reach my goals. The outdoor bootcamp sessions meant that I could enjoy the great outdoors while exercising, such a great view at Bluewater Quay of a night watching the sun set. Also it is a great way to meet people who as I had just moved to Mackay.
What were your goals?
As I had just moved to a new town I thought it would be a great place to make new friends. Exercising with people that were there for the same common goal, to improve their fitness and health.
My main goal was to improve my eating habits, I was eating a lot of the wrong foods. Also wanted to improve my fitness and overall health. If I lost weight that was an added bonus.
What achievements have you made? What benefits are you experiencing?
I have a lot more energy and my overall health and fitness has improved. My eating habits have changed dramatically, I meal prep for the week ahead.
I have lost a bit of weight but I have dropped a dress size and am fitting into all my old clothes, whoo hoo.
Running 5km and improving on times. Looking at challenging myself with a half marathon next year.
What did you do to achieve your results?
Attend 3 to 4 sessions a week at Red E plus a 5km run once a week and outrigging on a Sat morning.
I push myself each session and always set myself goals to challenge myself. If I have trouble with an exercise, I keep at it til I can do it.
Every week I meal prep with healthier options so I cant tempt myself with bad options and to make my week easier.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
My eating habits have changed a lot, I make better options when out for a meal. I am now enjoying eating the healthier options as I know it benefits my body.
I make exercise a priority, I am really enjoying it again. It helps having the right people around you to help keep you motivated.
Fave healthy food: Omelettes
Fave treat food: Cheese
Fave exercise: Running and any core work.
