Lorraine Perry is an absolute superstar! She started with us late January 2016 in our Bootcamp101 Program which is designed for beginners. Lorraine was consistent from day one, always showing up and giving her all. Once her initial 12 weeks was completed, she knew she wanted to keep going as she loved the training she was doing, so signed into our 12 month VIP Bootcamp for Women Program! She continued to set goals, and constantly challenged herself to try new things!
Lorraine her sights on some running goals, and entered the Mackay Marina Run in June and the Beach to Gardens Fun Run in September. She joined in on our Thursday morning Running Program sessions to help with her training and it paid off as she achieved her goal!! Lorraine is also a keen participant in our special sessions – including Metafit and FAST Express – which is just a sensational effort considering she started in the Beginner’s Program! Lorraine also committed to our 2016 12 Week ‘Little Black Dress’ Challenge!
Her results for those 12 weeks were a scale weight loss of 5.1kgs, 16.5cms gone and she dropped 3.5% body fat!!! And the icing on the cake was that Lorraine was awarded the Overall Winner for our 2016 ‘Little Black Dress’ Challenge!! She then awarded our “Client of the Month” Award for October 2016!
Lorraine is absolute proof if that you want something, you will do what it takes to get it. She lives a balanced, healthy life and has changed her lifestyle for the better to make fitness and healthier food choices a priority! And don’t her results show!!
Congratulations Lorraine, you deserve everything you’ve worked so hard for!!
What was your motivation to enter the 12 Week ‘Little Black Dress” Challenge?
Before starting this challenge I still had a long way to go in achieving my weight and fitness goals. This was my main reason for doing the challenge. Even though I had been training for approximately five months prior to the LBD challenge, I still had low self-esteem and lacked confidence, I couldn’t see the changes in my body shape when everyone else could! I didn’t just want to do this challenge, I needed to! I couldn’t continue being unhappy with the way I looked and felt.
What were your goals for the Challenge?
- Drop a dress size
- Lose a total of 25cm in measurements
- Decrease portion sizes
- Run 5kms without stopping
- 20 consecutive pushups on toes
- increase water intake to 3litres/day
How did you go with your goals? What achievements did you make? What benefits do you feel?
My main goal was to drop a dress size and I did it! (HAPPY DANCE!) I achieve this just by focusing on my smaller goals of making sure I drank 3 litres of water per day, reducing my portion sizes and making sire I attended bootcamp sessions. I can say it was a perfect 12 weeks but I did what I could and I achieved my main goal! I may not yet be able to fun 5kms without stopping or didn’t meet my measurement loss goal but I still felt amazing with what I did achieve! (UPDATE: ONE WEEK after the LBD ‘finish’ date, Lorraine achieved her goal of running 5kms without stopping at the Beach to Gardens Charity Fun Run!)
What did you do to achieve your results?
My training plan was just to keep it simple. Attend at least 3-4 sessions of Bootcamp a week and do a couple of home workouts a week. Some weeks were harder than others, but determination and refusing to give us pushed me through! Also attending extra sessions such as Metafit and FAST.
The dietary changes I made was just to eat more fruit and veg and eat less processed food. Also opting for healthier snacks in between meals, rather than reaching for that bar of chocolate (even if it was calling my name). Eating better has also had an impact on lessening the symptoms I was having with my inflammatory bowel disease.
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
The permanent lifestyle change for me is exercise more and eat right. No week is going to be perfect but for me the main thing is that I am trying. I definitely feel that this is a plan I can stick to – I see and feel the difference and it’s made and I’m happier for it. I’ve finally found something that works for me which makes it easier to stick to!
Although I still have a way to go before I reach my end goal, I still feel amazing with what I have achieved so far! So what doe the future? I WILL be a dress size smaller, happier, healthier, fitter, stronger and continuing my journey with Red E!
