Kearrina has totally changed her life around this year. She finally started exercising, although she was apprehensive, and then entered the 12 Week Challenge to see what she could achieve with a set goal and date. She made a huge internal transformation and there’s no turning back for her now! The icing on the cake was 2.3kg scale loss, 3.2% body fat decrease and 24cm from all over her body! Here’s her story:
What was your motivation to enter the 12 Week ‘Little Black Dress’ Challenge?
Before I fell pregnant with my son, I knew I had to make some changes but always put it off. I was too lazy to make the effort. I was tired of feeling weak, unfit and puffed after climbing the stairs at home. After having my son I was looking through my cupboard and saw a dress and thought “I want to wear that again” and that’s when I made contact with Red E.
What were your goals for the Challenge?
At first – weight loss but after starting Bootcamp for Women, I realised there were some other goals I was chasing. I have never exercised outdoors so that was the first hurdle – to not worry what others thought. This alone gave me ten times the confidence I walked in with. Strength was another goal. To learn to look after my body and to feel healthy and happy to be me – in MY body. To change how I see myself instead of being negative.
How did you go with your goals? What achievements did you make? What benefits do you feel?
After starting the challenge and having measurements done I set some personal goals to reduce my body fat %. I did achieve this during the challenge. I ran 1km without stopping/walking. I have cut out ice coffee now, and I no longer feel bloated. I have always eaten a lot of veges however I pretty much ate on the run all the time and I never had breakfast. My only guaranteed meal was dinner when my partner was at home to cook. This has changed now.
What did you do to achieve your results?
* I called Red E. I went to Bootcamp three times per week then increased it to five days per week. I work out at home 2-3 times per week.
* I have changed my eating habits from on-the-run to eating three meals a day (I am struggling to eat more even though they are small meals – I’m not used to eating so much!)
* WATER! I knew I had to increase my intake and I now drink 2 litres per day 🙂
What permanent lifestyle changes have you made?
I feel more positive, a little more confident and I’m happier. I don’t feel as stressed. There is no turning back for me. I have found a new passion / addiction! This is my life now. I love it. I can’t believe I waited so long to do this. I plan to have baby #2 in the future but I do not plan on giving up on my health and fitness, it will just be amended to accomodate the changes!
