Your 2021 Success Plan
• “This is the year I finally get in shape!”
• “This is the year I lose the weight!”
• “This is the year I start my business!”
• “This is the year I lose the weight!”
• “This is the year I start my business!”
And then by every February, the vast majority have failed already.
Why does that happen??
Here’s why…
1. They’re too vague. Instead of saying, “I want to get in shape,” say that you’re going to spend 15 minutes walking around the neighbourhood twice a week. (Don’t worry – it will lead to more.)
2. Unrealistic Goals. Don’t be so demanding of yourself. Realise that the best, lasting change is going to be gradual. If you go too big, too fast, it is just too easy to be overwhelmed and throw the whole idea out the window.
3. Doing things you dislike! Choose to do something positive that you enjoy, and then you won’t have to force yourself to do it every day.
4. Not tracking progress. If you want to eat better, record what you eat every day in a journal or an app. If you want to slim down, take a photo of yourself each week so you can see that, despite how you might feel, you really are making progress. What gets measured, improves!
5. Not knowing your “why.” If you don’t have a profound, compelling reason for doing what you’re doing, it’s bound to fail.
The key to being successful in your New Year’s Resolutions or as better called – GOALS or INTENTIONS – you have for this year is to examine your desire a little more deeply, and then take little, bite-sized actions each day to get started.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” And is followed by another… and another…
